Following the launch of Bike Trac ATV earlier this summer, the makers of the system (Road Angel Group) have today confirmed the first theft and recovery of an ATV equipped with the system.
Thanks to the text notification that is sent the moment an equipped machine is unlawfully moved, the owner of the stolen ATV was quickly notified and with the system armed was tracked throughout the duration of the theft from its original location near Stow on the Wold in the Cotswolds . After just two hours, the police had recovered the stolen ATV 20 miles away near Evesham.
Road Angel's Bill Taylor commented, "As the very first Bike Trac equipped ATV to be stolen, we were naturally very pleased to assist in such a swift recovery. After the initial notification of theft at 15.24, our team worked with local police via the Bike Trac live website to pin-point the ATV's exact location. By 17.42 the ATV was safely recovered by Police, with a breadcrumb trail included thanks to our system, showing exactly where the stolen ATV had been".
A leading and proven product in the motorcycle security market already, Bike Trac moved on traditional theft tracking technology when it was launched in 2009 by offering customers a product that provided useful interaction with the unit on a daily basis.
With this know-how and the latest technology built in to the ATV version, users are not only able to track the whereabouts of their machine night and day via the online web portal, but can also use the unit to view usage on satellite mapping, keep tabs on mileage or use and even know if a machine is involved in a roll-over incident.
Bike Trac ATV has a recommended retail price of £299 inc VAT, with subscription costs as follows: 1 year - £99.99, 2 year - £179.99, 3 - year £229.99. Bike Trac ATV has no other hidden costs, all text notifications and emails are included in the subscription cost. NFU members can claim a 10% discount off the unit price.
